Work Environment
This role is primarily based in the patient's home, requiring flexibility and adaptability as you travel to various locations in Gainesville. Working onsite allows for personalized therapy sessions in a comfortable environment for the patient, significantly enhancing the rehabilitation experience. You will collaborate with other healthcare aides and professionals while maintaining a strong emphasis on communicative and adaptive therapies suited to each individual's lifestyle.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough evaluations and assessments of patients with a variety of conditions including orthopedic issues, post-surgical rehabilitation, and sports-related injuries.
- Design and implement tailored treatment plans based on thorough assessments, ensuring that each patient's individual needs and functional goals are met.
- Utilize a mix of therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, and functional training methods to foster recovery and improve patient mobility.
- Educate patients and their families on effective movement mechanics, safe exercise protocols, and preventative strategies to minimize future injuries.
- Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient progress and treatment modalities using an Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
- Work closely with orthopedic physicians and healthcare team members to streamline the continuum of care and achieve optimal patient outcomes.
- Stay informed about the latest advancements in physical therapy practices, incorporating evidence-based techniques into treatment plans.
Patient Population / Client Focus
As a Physical Therapist at Velocity Physical Therapy, you will primarily work with geriatric patients within the home setting. These patients often face unique challenges related to mobility, strength, and recovery post-surgery or injury. Qualifications
- A current and valid Physical Therapy license in the state of Florida.
- Completion of a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree or equivalent from an accredited institution, demonstrating advanced education in the field.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, essential for building rapport with patients and collaborating with healthcare colleagues.
- Capable of developing and executing patient-specific treatment plans that address both immediate rehabilitation needs and long-term health goals.

Preferred Experience
- At least 2 years of professional experience as a Physical Therapist.

Compensation and Benefits
